About
Choose a career on purpose, and build it here.
Too many students in Ventura County pick a career by accident, then leave the county to find work. Employers here have a hard time finding them. We built VC Careers to connect the two: a free quiz that shows you which kinds of work fit you, and a directory of the local employers who hire for them.

How it works
One site for students and for the employers who want to meet them
How it works for students
- Step 1
Take the quiz
40 quick questions about what you like and how you like to work. No account and no email.
- Step 2
See the career types that fit you
You get your top career types, with the pay in Ventura County where it is published and how long the training takes.
- Step 3
Meet the local employers hiring for them
See employers in the county that hire for your career types, with links to their careers pages.
How it works for employers
- Step 1
Find your listing
We list every employer we can find in the county. If yours is here, claim it. If not, join and we add you.
- Step 2
Become a member
Members get a full profile and show up ahead of basic listings in quiz results when they hire for a taker's top career types.
- Step 3
Post news and see your stats
Share openings, updates and events. Your dashboard shows profile views, quiz result appearances and clicks.
For Ventura County schools
One quiz, every campus, free for students and schools
We want VC Careers to be the career tool every school in the county uses. Students need no account, and we keep nothing that points to a student.
What a school gets
A campus link, no cost, and totals for your campus: how many students finished the quiz each month and which career types came up most. A counselor view and print packs are planned, not built yet.
How we keep it honest
What is paid, and where the numbers come from
